Wall-to-Wall Fun at Jinjuseong

A few families from our AIS community have recently made the short trip (just over an hour from Geoje) to Jinjuseong Fortress in Jinju—and it’s easy to see why. With its peaceful riverside setting, open green spaces, and centuries-old stone walls, it’s the kind of place where kids can explore freely and families can enjoy time together at a slower pace.

The fortress itself is steeped in history, and for students who’ve been learning about Korea’s past, it offers a real sense of connection. Inside, you’ll find the Jinju National Museum, full of stories, artefacts, and displays from the Imjin War. There’s also the chance to try on traditional hanbok or take a short boat ride along the Namgang River.

It’s not a flashy theme park—there are no rollercoasters or queues—but that’s part of the charm. It’s a space for curiosity, imagination, and quiet discovery. Whether you’re going with young children or teens, Jinjuseong is a great option for a weekend outing- especially now in cherry blossom season!
